Underground mines specify MineCribTM concrete cribbing block, manufactured at Rock Springs Block Co., for a number of reasons:
 

• Concrete MineCribTM block provides immediate support of the mine roof and does not shrink like wood timber.
   
• Wood timber deteriorates in the damp, underground mine environment, but concrete MineCribTM block actually gain strength as they continue to cure! 
     
• MineCribTM cribbing block can support more than 900 tons and will not yield. Plywood compression panels on the bottom of each crib enable supervisors to monitor total roof loading.
   
• MineCribTM blocks are handled and set in place with a forklift, reducing labor costs and installation time for roof supports.
